Hello! I’m Lisa, and my journey in the recruitment industry has been both rewarding and transformative. After many years with the same company, I faced an unexpected pivot that changed my career path. My colleagues were more than just co-workers; they were my work family. As the saying goes, sometimes you just need to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and move forward. After exploring a few roles that didn’t quite fit, I decided to forge my own path and do things my way.
The Birth of Barton Enterprises
Together with my husband, I founded Barton Enterprises LLC to bring a personal touch to talent acquisition. Our mission is to operate with integrity, hard work, and transparency, helping clients make the “perfect” hire while guiding candidates toward their dream jobs. We have a network of recruiters working with us across the United States.
Experience and Expertise
Fast-forward to today, and I bring over 25 years of experience in human resource management and recruitment, with a strong focus on IT. Throughout my career, I have consistently been a top producer, placing hundreds of individuals in Fortune 500 companies for both contract and direct hire positions.
Early Days in Recruitment
My career in recruitment began in the 1990s, right after graduating from Christian Brothers University. I started by placing IT professionals for Y2K projects. Back then, it was a pre-internet world, and I quickly learned that finding the "perfect" candidate was far more complex than just a newspaper ad and an interview.
A Lasting Passion
Despite the initial learning curve, I successfully placed a Cobol programmer within my first week. This early success sparked a deep passion for recruitment. Over time, I developed innovative strategies for sourcing talent, and even today, my true calling lies in connecting the right individual with the right company and position.
